Have you ever wondered what history there is in New York outside of New York City? Do you get upset when you tell a non-New Yorker that you are from New York and they assume you are from New York City? Are you a person who loves to explore, or do you like learning interesting facts? If so, this site is for you.

This site aims to provide a basic, general education on the rich history upstate New York has. To provide clarification on what “upstate” is, I mean everything outside of the New York City area. So, sadly, no Yonkers or Long Island, even though they also have a rich history.

Stories will focus on multiple subjects, which means it breaks the common misconception that history is strictly about war, or politics

This doesn’t mean that stories will focus strictly on things like geological history, but instead stories will focus on the story of how items or place were found and how it now relates to modern times.

All information gathered will come from personal experiences, museums and locals of the area.
